As a child who loved stories, those read to me and reading them myself, I found a love for the written word that has stuck with me throughout my life. I have already started gathering books for my grandchildren - those they will grow into and hopefully appreciate. I want them to be excited about the words, the stories they build, and the imaginations they fill. They don't have to love writing the way I do, but I want them to love reading as much as I did when I was young, and still do. It's one gift this mother and grandmother has to offer that can make a big difference in their lives.
