Yes, my little yappers let me know when the neighbor's doorbell rings, when an uninvited cat-bird-squirrel-turtle-gecko-wasp-fly-ant...is in the yard, and every time a neighbor exercises. I know that Chihuahua's are very protective of their territory but come on guys, we don't own the whole block!
