Since I've gone back to work full time, this is how my evenings have been. It's amazing that two little Chihuahua's can take up the full couch around me but they manage just fine, that is, when they aren't laying on top of me! I love my little guys and know that I stress them out every morning when I put the doggie door up so their space is limited but I know that they are safe in a controlled environment and it gives me piece of mind. My husband let's them loose before I get home so they meet me at the garage door with wagging tails, happy dancing, and lot's of puppy love. All is forgiven and forgotten. Life truly doesn't get much better than that!
To my Day, the man who raised me and loves me. I wouldn't be the person I am today without your influence and encouragement. I love you! Happy Father's Day.
I hope that you are having so many moments such as this that you will be forever changed. Be safe on the road, keep sending us updates and pictures and have the time of your lives. We'll all be here when you get home. Love you both to very, very much.
It truly does say a lot about you. Though I always put my in the coral, my car always seems to attract those loose carts that people feel entitled to leave wherever they want. In my mind, it's pure laziness and/or lack of consideration for anyone else. But then, having worked in retail for a short while, it is truly amazing just how low some people behave. The stories that I could share with you would make you sick to your stomach. It certainly did mine. I guess you now know how I feel about this topic and I'll get off my soapbox! My apologies - unless you're one of those who refuses to coral your cart. It's not difficult or time consuming to do the right thing.
This is a humorous reminder for something that's not quite so humorous for some of us. I am a skin cancer survivor - I won't go into the details - but know that it's no laughing matter. It takes lives every day. Be diligent and protect yourself and your loved ones. That said, go out and enjoy the sunshine.
This picture from Colorado was sent by a friend from Kansas, though it could have been shared by my parents. Their summer road trip has taken them to Telluride to spend some time with my uncle Paul. They now have two weeks under their wheels and are having a great time! Love you and be safe!
This is an excellent idea. We've used it for an outdoor (at the park) baby shower. The pool cost us less than $4 and fit in the trunk of our car. Fill it with ice, then add food and drinks. It kept everything we needed to chill, cold. It was also a fun thing for the kids during clean up. Once the food and drink items were removed, the ice was melted but still cool so we placed it on the ground for the little ones to play in. They had a ball!
Oh yes - today is my last day working for American Greetings. I start my new job with the county engineering services on Monday! I interviewed for it months ago and was not the chosen candidate. A few weeks ago, out of the blue, they called me to see if I was still interested. Thank you God for giving me patience and the ability to trust in you. This offer came just when it needed to and I am so excited to start this new chapter. So off I go to tidy up a few loose ends and deliver a couple dozen cookies to those who have been a joy to work with and made my job easier. Today is a good day!
June means afternoon thundershowers in Florida. It's also the beginning of the hurricane season - yay! Although I've been more involved with hurricane evacuation by visiting Florida than living here; they say that we are due. Other than that annual threat, the sky is a beautiful blue and the landscape is lush and bright green. June is a beautiful time of year - anywhere! Enjoy it because June will be gone before we know it and then, half of the year will have evaporated! Wow does time fly whether you're having fun or not.
